Circle-Jerked By Google Plus

So, out of the blue, my friend Scott Hendison sends me the following tweet:

Had my email been hacked again? It already happened once before.

A little investigation did not show evidence of a new hack…in my Gmail spam filter, there were only a couple spam emails similar to what Scott received, meaning what Scott received either had some connection to the last hack or perhaps somebody we both knew was hacked & my name was used to send a email to him (since my email address wasn’t in the email he received).

“…I’d like to talk about Politics…but first, a little Foggy Mountain Breakdown…” Steve Martin

A while back, I was watching a TV spot featuring singer Marc Cohn who was promoting his new record “Listening Booth: 1970”…an album that I later listened to and didn’t actually think was all that great. During an otherwise forgettable interview and TV performance, he made the following statement (which I’m paraphrasing since it is from my memory) which stuck with me because I remember initially vehemently disagreeing with it.

My YouTube FUBAR

So, I admit I don’t use YouTube that much. However, when it added social features that allowed me to connect via YouTube to my Twitter & Facebook Friends with one click of a button, I did that. I fully admit to being a bit of a friending whore in many of the more popular networks (e.g. I have several hundred Foursquare connections and have yet to use the service)…however, I’ve found that it’s so hard to know in advance where and how to make the most meaningful connections…so when it’s so easy to connect with hundreds via one click, I go and push the button.
